Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Secretary General of Council of Europe discuss extremism in Ukraine

KYIV. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara has discussed on the telephone with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland the development of the political situation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry press office said in a statement.

According to the information of the press office, Kozhara has informed Jagland of the measures being taken by the Ukrainian president and government for a peaceful resolution of the political crisis and has noted the necessity of the opposition to implement all agreements reached in the context of the bill on amnesty passed.

"Special attention has been paid to the issue of growing extremism in the framework of protests in Ukraine and it has been noted that it is important that the opposition releases its clear attitude towards the actions of extremist elements and distances from them as much as possible," the document said.
