Rosneft paid $4 bln for Sibneftegas
MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - The acquisition of OJSC Sibneftegas, which Rosneft consolidated in 2013 through deals with two other companies, cost the oil giant nearly $4 billion, Rosneft said in its 2013 report to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Rosneft received a 49% minority stake in Sibneftegas, following Rosneft's acquisition of gas producer Itera in June 2013. The 49% stake is valued at 71 billion rubles, the oil giant said.
In December 2013, Rosneft and OJSC Novatek swapped 40% ownership interest in Artic Russia B.V., owned by Rosneft, for the 51% stake in Sibneftegas owned by Novatek. The transaction did not involve any cash consideration, and Rosneft purchased the Artic Russia B.V. stake from Italy's Enel for 59 billion rubles.
"The final cost of the Sibneftegas acquisition was 130 billion rubles," Rosneft said. This is equivalent to $3.99 billion at the average Q4 exchange rate.
