Domodedovo Airport handles 3.5% more passengers in Jan
MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax) - Moscow's Domodedovo Airport handled 2.16 million passengers in January 2014, up 3.5% year-on-year, the airport said in a statement.
The number of flights in January grew 5.8% to 20,600.
These included 892,000 passengers on domestic flights, up 10.7% year-on-year. The main domestic destinations were Sochi, Makhachkala, St. Petersburg, Vladikavkaz and Krasnodar. There were 1.275 million passengers on international flights, and the most popular destinations were Sharm el-Sheikh, Barcelona, Antalya, Punta Cana and London.
The airport also handled 11,995 tonnes of cargo in January 2014, up 0.3% from January 2013 when the airport handled 11,965 tonnes.
Moscow's Domodedovo airport is one of Moscow's largest airports. In 2013, the company served 30.76 million people. The operator and owner of the airport is DME Ltd. The prospectus for Eurobonds placed in the fall of 2013 names the chairman of the airport's board of directors, Dmitry Kamenschik, as the sole beneficiary.
