Russia to build civilian, military shipyards near Murmansk - deputy PM
MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's Defense Ministry, Industry and Trade Ministry and state oil company Rosneft have agreed "a plan to locate civilian and defense shipyards" in the Murmansk region, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said.
The region's village of Roslyakovo will "become an Arctic shipbuilding center of Rosneft within the next few years," Rogozin said on Twitter.
He also said Rosneft and some government ministries had agreed on a roadmap for setting up an oilrig construction consortium in the Primorye territory. Furthermore, next year the region's Zvezda shipyard will take orders from Russian oil and gas companies that until now "have been going abroad," he said.
An overhaul is beginning of the shipyard in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, and "as from 2015 it will be ready to take orders for the Black Sea Fleet," Rogozin said.
