Duma passes bill on unscheduled checks on nonprofit organizations

MOSCOW. Feb 11 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma, the lower house of parliament, passed a government-proposed bill in its second and third readings that lists additional reasons for the Justice Ministry's unscheduled inspections on non-profit organizations.

One of them is the expiration of the deadline for amending flaws, uncovered by the authorized agency, and another is the arrival of a report from a federal or regional government body to the authorized agency, saying that a nonprofit organization has violated the law, or elements of extremism were uncovered in its activities.

The third additional reason is an order to conduct an unscheduled check into alleged flaws, issued by the head of the authorized inspection agency in compliance with the president's or government's instruction or on a prosecutor's insistence.
