Dalzavod plans to increase warship repairs 2.2 times in 2014

VLADIVOSTOK. Feb 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The ship-repair center Dalzavod (part of the Far East Shipbuilding and Repair Center, DTsSS, Vladivostok) plans to increase the repair of warships almost two times in 2014, compared to 2013, and bring the worth of the workload to be done to 12 billion rubles.

Dalzavod completed a workload worth 5.5 billion rubles in 2013 compared to 2.6 billion rubles in 2012, DTsSS's press service reported.

The repair shipyard has been meeting the Pacific Fleet's needs fully for the past few years, it said.

Dalzavod plans to build a dock for repairing diesel submarines, Dalzavod's executive director, Igor Yevdokimov said, according to the press service. A comprehensive project to modernize the plant, intended for a period ending in 2019, has been readied, he said.

Among the company's other prospective areas is repair of civilian ships, which holds much promise, the press service said. The company performed 200 million rubles worth of repairs of civilian ships in 2013 and plans to increase this figure to 280 million in 2014.

Dalzavod repairs warships and civilian vessels. The DTsSS, United Shipbuilding Corporation's subsidiary, holds a 99.9999% stake in the plant.

The DTsSS encompasses 17 shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises in the Far East, including the Zvezda shipyard in Primorye, which plans to make shelf platforms.
