EU representative holds talks in Kyiv
KYIV. Feb 11 (interfax) - During his two-day visit to Kyiv European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule will meet with senior Ukrainian officials as well as leaders of political forces and the public, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
"Today and tomorrow he is due to meet with the Ukrainian leadership, the leaders of political parties and public representatives," Director of the Foreign Ministry's Department for Information Policy Evgeniy Perebiynis said at a briefing.
Ukraine's course towards European integration remains invariable, he said. "Once again we reaffirm Ukraine's invariable course towards EU integration based on the implementation of socio-political and socio-economic reforms aimed at getting us closer to the best European standards," the diplomat said.
Kyiv therefore welcomes the steps made by the EU and international community, including by international financial institutions, with the aim to help Ukraine.
