IRKUTSK. Feb 12 (Interfax) - The Irkutsk Oktyabrsky District Court has sentenced sushi bar cook Vitaly Kartashov and car repair shop mechanic Alexander Makarov on the counts of drug trafficking and illegal acquisition and storage of radioactive material, the East Siberian transport prosecutor's office said on Wednesday.
"The court discovered that in 2012 Kartashov and Makarov ordered online several hundreds of thousands of rubles in payment for shipments of Chinese synthetic drugs hidden in various objects - a toy, a telephone and a car oil filter. They acquired over 850 grams [of drugs] in all," the report said.
Not only synthetic and natural drugs but also a radioactive substance, strontium 90, in an industrial container was found during the search of Kartashov's home.
