North Korean course towards independence, military might, socialism to be unwavering - ambassador

MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - The course towards building "a powerful and prosperous socialist state on the Korean land consistent with the commandments of Comrade Kim Il Sung" is unwavering, North Korean Ambassador in Moscow Kim Yong Jae said at a reception dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the birth of late North Korean leader Kim Jong Il.

"The ideas and deeds of Great Comrade Kim Jong Il were worthily continued by Esteemed Kim Jong Un," the ambassador said.

There is no doubt that the party, the army and the people of North Korea "will follow the straight path of independence, the Songun policy and socialism," the North Korean diplomat stated.

The Songun policy is the course of the North Korean leadership towards the strengthening of the national armed forces and the role of the army in state affairs.

At the same time, Kim Yong Jae said that the North Korean government was determined to "carry on and multiply the time-tested traditions of Korean-Russian friendship" and to give a boost to bilateral economic cooperation.
