Earthquake jolts northwestern China
NOVOSIBIRSK. Feb 17 (Interfax) - A 4.4-point earthquake occurred in China on Monday, 577 kilometers east of Urumqi and several kilometers away from the Mongolian border.
The quake happened at 44.27 North, 94.80 East at 0:40 a.m. Moscow time, the Altai-Sayan division of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Siberian branch said.
The quake measured 5.5 points on the MSK-64 scale at its epicenter.
