ASTANA. Feb 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The heads of the Kazakh and Russian space agencies, Talgat Musabayev and Oleg Ostapenko, respectively, will meet in Moscow to discuss a plan for use of Baikonur Cosmodrome in 2014-2016, Kazakhstan President's Central Communications Service (CCS) spokesman Altai Abibullayev said.
"On February 20-21 head of the Kazakh Space Agency Talgat Musabayev will be holding talks with Roscosmos (Russian Federal Space Agency) chief Oleg Ostapenko in Moscow over the implementation of agreements as part of the road map for the joint use of the Baikonur complex in 2014-2016," he said at a briefing at the CCS office in Astana on Monday.
Russia has been renting Baikonur Cosmodrome from Kazakhstan since 1994. In 2004 the lease was extended until 2050. Russia pays $115 million a year for using Baikonur.
