Wage arrears in Russia rise 27.6% in Jan - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Wage arrears in Russia grew 27.6% during January to 2.487 billion rubles, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

Around 47 million rubles of the January arrears were public sector wage arrears caused by delays with transferring budgeted funds, up 45 million rubles or 19-fold from the end of December.

Companies and organizations themselves were responsible for 2.44 billion rubles or 98.1% of the arrears, up by 493 million rubles or 25.3% since the end of December.
