Russian diplomat discusses Syria's chemical disarmament with Syrian authorities' rep
MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Russian presidential special representative for the Middle East, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and the head of the Syrian agency on the implementation of the obligations on the Chemical Weapons Convention have discussed advancements of Syria's chemical disarmament.
Bogdanov met with Sharif, head of the Syrian agency on the implementation of the obligations on the Chemical Weapons Convention, on Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry posted a statement on its website.
"The issues of advancing the process of Syria's chemical disarmament in accordance with the decision of the executive council of the Organization for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons and the UN Security Council Resolution of September 27, 2013 have been discussed during the conversation," the document said.
