Azerbaijan posts 3.5% inflation in 2013

BAKU. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Inflation in Azerbaijan was 3.5% in 2013, the country's Central Bank said on its website.

Azerbaijan had deflation of around 0.3% for 2012.

The Central Bank said that last year's food prices grew 2.9%, non-foodstuffs - 3.5% and services - 4.2%.

Prices for passenger air transport and notarial services grew noticeably in January of last year, which was reflected in tariffs for services. Growth in fuel prices in December also affected the level of inflation slightly.

Average annual inflation was 2.4% in 2013. Average growth in food prices was 1.2%, non-food goods - 0.2% and services - 1%.
