Party of Regions' Donetsk organization wants order restored in Ukraine
KYIV. Feb 19 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian authorities have enough strength and instruments at their disposal to restore order, and they must use them, the Party of Region's Donetsk regional organization said in a statement on Tuesday.
They must do this now "if we do not want to lose our country for good," it said.
The current developments in Kyiv arouse much pain and concern, it also said.
"In fact, the so-called protest movement has deteriorated into open banditry, attacks and lynchings," the statement says.
"The radicals are lynching their political opponents. The party's office on Lypska Street was damaged, its staff were humiliated and property and documents seized in an deliberately orchestrated crime. Its authors must be punished in all strictness and be tried in court, not by some amorphous "court of history" or "people's court," without any hope for amnesty," the statement says.
