UN Security Council could pass resolution on Syria soon if no one politicizes this issue - Lavrov
KUWAIT. Feb 19 (Interfax) - The UN Security Council could pass the resolution on Syria in the coming days if none of its participants politicizes the topic, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"If no one in the Security Council politicizes this topic or attempts to promote unilateral approaches, I am certain that we will be able to agree upon this in the coming days," Lavrov said when speaking at the third ministerial round of strategic dialogue between Russia and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
"We are currently working in the Security Council on the resolution aimed at sending a strong signal to all whom this concerns regarding the necessity to take urgent measures to ease the difficult humanitarian situation," Lavrov said.
