Shopping mall, police station besieged in Kyiv outskirts

KYIV. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The Darnytskyy District Police Department in Kyiv was besieged by a group of people, while Glushkov Prospekt (Teremki Park in southwest Kyiv) has been flooded with unknown individuals, the Kyiv police told Interfax.

"The police department has in fact been besieged but they have not entered the building," the police said.

Also, on Thursday afternoon police received a report from representatives of the Magellan shopping center about it being surrounded by a large group of people, the source also said.

Police have travelled to the scene but could not get through to the Magellan building because of very large crowds.

Currently, Glushkov Prospekt where the shopping center is located is virtually blocked by aggressive people, the police said.
