Army can use weapons to protect lives, defense facilities - ministry

KYIV. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The law allows the Ukrainian Armed Forces to apply means of physical influence, riot weapons and firearms in the line of duty.

"Under Article 20 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces internal service, 'servicemen have the right to apply measures of physical influence, and carry, store and use riot weapons and firearms in line of duty in a manner established by the laws'," the ministry said on its website.
