Opposition claims Lviv policemen come to Kyiv to defend EuroMaidan
KYIV. Feb 21 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian opposition leader, former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko, claims that police officers have come to Kyiv from the western city of Lviv to defend the EuroMaidan.
"Policemen with their officially issued weapons have arrived in Kyiv from several districts of the Lviv region in order to maintain order on the Maidan," Lutsenko was quoted as saying on Friday by the Channel 5 television station.
Radical activists attacked several police stations in Lviv on February 19, seizing a considerable amount of firearms.
The Lviv region's police chief said on Thursday that more than half of 1,189 weapons stolen from the police stations had already been found and returned.
