Yatsenyuk demands that Ukraine's National Bank be taken under control

KYIV. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Arseniy Yatsenyuk, leader of the faction Batkivshchina of the Ukrainian parliament, said the Ukrainian National Bank should be taken under control to maintain the country's banking system.

"Now it is important to keep the banking system from collapsing, and we have reserves for that, if the new administration takes the Central Bank under control," Yatsenyuk said during a meeting of the conciliatory council of the heads of the parliamentary factions and committees on Monday.

Yatsenyuk said the National Bank should fulfill "its tasks, namely, by maintaining the stability of the national currency and preventing inflation."
