EU says willing to discuss pact with Ukraine after May polls
BRUSSELS. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The European Union is willing to start negotiating an association agreement with Ukraine after the country carries through its planned early presidential election on May 25 and forms a government after the poll, a European Commission spokesman said on Monday.
That does not mean that the European Commission considers the government that is being formed in Ukraine today illegitimate, Olivier Bailly told a briefing in Brussels. The Commission just wants the planned accord to be signed by a government that unquestionably represents the majority of the nation, he said.
