State Duma speaker to hold talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Sergei Naryshkin, speaker of the State Duma, the lower chamber of Russia's parliament, is due to visit Israel and the Palestinian National Authority on February 25-26.

"Meetings with President Shimon Peres and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein will be held in Israel," the State Duma said on its website.

Naryshkin is also expected to hold a meeting with Israeli historians and cultural figures dedicated to the establishment of the Russian Historical Society's office in Israel.

Apart from that, the city of Netanya will host a meeting between Naryshkin and World War II veterans, as well as a flower-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument.

Naryshkin will meet with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in the Palestinian city of Ramallah.
