Uranium One ups yellowcake production 8% to 13.2 mln pounds in 2013

TORONTO. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Uranium One increased attributable production of yellowcake to a "record" 13.2 million pounds last year, up from 12.2 million pounds produced in 2012, the company reported.

"As [of] December 31, 2013, the total attributable reserves and resources at the company's South Inkai mine in Kazakhstan increased as follows: the company's attributable share of proven and probable reserves increased by 282%, from 9.24 million lbs U3O8 (3,554 t U) to 35.34 million lbs U3O8 (13,593 t U); the company's attributable share of measured and indicated resources increased by 429%, from 10.27 million lbs U3O8 (3,949 t U) to 54.36 million lbs U3O8 (20,911 t U); and the company's attributable share of inferred resources increased by 58%, from 31.12 million lbs U3O8 (11,969 t U) to 49.08 million lbs U3O8 (18,877 t U)," Uranium One said.

In Kazakhstan, Uranium One owns 70% of the Betpak Dala joint venture, which owns the Akdala Mine and the South Inkai Mine; 50% of the Karatau joint venture, 30% of the Kyzylkum joint venture (Kharasan project), 50% of the Akbastau joint venture and 49.67% of the Zarechnoye joint venture, which owns the Zarechnoye Mine and the South Zarechnoye Project. In the United States, the company owns 100% of the Willow Creek Project, and has a number of development projects in Wyoming. In Australia, Uranium One owns 51% of the Honeymoon Uranium Project. It is also the operator of Mantra Resources' Mkuju River project in Tanzania.

Uranium One Incorporated's main shareholder Uranium One Holding, 100% of which is held by OJSC AtomCapital, which is owned by Russia's state nuclear power corporation Rosatom.
