Russia hasn't contacted new Ukrainian govt members - acting Ukrainian foreign minister
KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russia has not yet contacted any members of the new Ukrainian government, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
"We have addressed Russia with a request on arranging a telephone conversation between members of the new Ukrainian government, particularly at the level of prime ministers, and also a telephone conversation at the level of foreign ministers. Such an address was passed to the Russian side yesterday, and again this morning, and we haven't yet received an answer saying that Prime Minister Medvedev or Mr. Lavrov are ready to talk," acting Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsya said in Kyiv on Friday.
Ukraine expects Russia's response will be positive, he added.
Asked whether Ukraine will recall its ambassador in response to Russia's step to this effect, Deshchytsya replied, "Haven't planned this."
