JTI appoints new managers at three Russian plants

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Tobacco manufacturer Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has appointed new managers at its Russian plants.

JTI appointed Edwin Rosa the new general director of the Petro plant and vice president of JTI CIS, the company said in a press release. He took charge of five JTI plants on March 1, four in Russia and one in Ukraine. His predecessor, Andrei Newton, will oversee all JTI plants around the world.

Rosa was previously head of Liggett Dukat, another JTI plant. He worked at JTI Yelets from 2007-2010 and was operations director at JTI in Kazakhstan and Ukraine and headed the CIS personnel service.

Andrei Kolmanson will take over as head of Liggett Dukat in Moscow. Kolmanson was previously general director of Kres Neva in Leningrad region.

Andreas Fulgoni was appointed the new general director at Kres Neva. He joined JTI in 2008 at a plant in Germany and was put in charge of the tobacco manufacturing service in 2011.

Japan Tobacco International is the international division of Japan Tobacco that sells its tobacco in 120 countries.

JTI, the international division of Japan Tobacco, has four plants in Russia: Petro in St. Petersburg, Ligget-Ducat in Moscow, JTI Yelets in Lipetsk region and tobacco processing plant Kres Neva in Leningrad region. It owns the Winston, Mild Seven, Camel, Sobranie, Glamour and LD cigarette brands. Its brand portfolio in Russia includes Russky Stil, Petr I and Troika.

JTI saw sales in Russia drop 8.6% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2013 amid an 8% drop on the Russian tobacco market as a whole.
