Rallies in support of Ukraine's Russian speakers held in three Russian cities
MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Rallies in the Russian cities of Novocherkassk, Belgorod and Bryansk on Monday in support of Ukraine's Russian-speaking community brought together a total of 17,500 people, according to statements from police authorities.
The Rostov regional police authority said 7,500 people had turned out for the rally in Novocherkassk.
The meetings in Belgorod and Bryansk each brought together 5,000 people, the regional police authorities of Belgorod and Bryansk said.
All three police authorities said "no excesses" were registered during the events.
