Tatarstan raising money to aid Crimea
KAZAN. March 3 (Interfax) - A fund for supporting Crimea has been set up in Tatarstan, the republic president's press service reported on Monday.
"The fund has been formed given proposals arriving from residents of Tatarstan and employees of industrial enterprises, for supporting the multiethnic Autonomous Republic of the Crimea, which has found itself in a dramatic situation," the press service said.
Earlier, Tatarstan's civil servants made the decision to transfer their one-day salaries to the fund for supporting Crimea.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov urged ordinary residents of Tatarstan, businessmen and employees of companies and organizations to support the Crimea by offering whatever aid they can provide," the press service said.
The requisites of the charitable fund, Ak Bars Sozidaniye , have been posted on the Tatarstan government's official website.
