Roscosmos, Arianespace initial agreement on additional Soyuz-ST delivery
MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax-AVN) - The Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and Europe's Arianespace have agreed on the additional delivery of seven Soyuz-ST launch vehicles to the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana, South America, Samara Space Rocket Center CSKB-Progress General Director Alexander Kirilin told Interfax-AVN.
"Arianespace hosted a conference on February 20-21, at which an agreement between the Russian and French sides was drawn up and initialed to deliver another seven Soyuz-ST vehicles for launches from the Kourou Space Center. The supplementary agreement is due to be signed in late April 2014," he said.
Roscosmos and Arianespace agreed on Soyuz launches from the French Guiana Space Center in 2005. At least 50 Soyuz-ST medium-lift launch vehicles will blast off from Kourou in 15 years. The total cost of the program is 344 million euro, with Russia's contribution of 121 million euro.
Kourou accomplished six Soyuz-ST missions in 2011-2013.
