Rally in support of residents of Crimea held in Volgograd

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - A rally of about 5,000 people in support of residents of the Crimea has ended in Volgograd, the regional police department told Interfax.

"A rally against fascism and in support of residents of the Crimea was held near the Lake of Tears at the Mamayev Hill memorial from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday," a police spokesman said.

He said the rally was attended by veterans of wars, labor, interior troops and law enforcement services.

About 5,000 people attended, and 120 policemen maintained law and order. The event passed off without incident.
