Decision made by Crimean parliament on inclusion of Crimea takes effect immediately - first deputy chairman of Council of Ministers

SIMFEROPOL. March 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The decision made by the Supreme Council of Crimea to join the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation takes effect the moment it is made, Rustam Temirgaliyev, first deputy chairman of Council of Ministers, said.

"The decision made by the Supreme Council to join Crimea to Russia takes effect the moment it is made, that is, beginning today," Temirgaliyev said.

If Crimea joins Russia, relations between Crimea and Ukraine will be built as relations between Russia and Ukraine, he said.

Temirgaliyev reiterated that the Crimean referendum is needed "for the people of Crimea to confirm this decision made by the parliament."

Temirgaliyev said what is happening cannot be called a conflict between Crimea and Ukraine. "No one is talking about a war, no one wants a war," he said.
