VEB operating within current limits at Ukraine's Prominvestbank - VEB chief Dmitriev

GORKI. March 6 (Interfax) - Vnesheconombank (VEB) is operating for now within the current limits for Ukrainian Prominvestbank and has no plans to sell its holding.

"VEB has various limits on Prominvestbank, including documentary and deposit limits. We are working within those limits," VEB chief Vladimir Dmitriev told journalists on Thursday.

"We have no plans to sell Prominvestbank," Dmitriev said.

Prominvestbank is currently seeing an outflow of deposits from corporate entities and individuals in Ukraine. "True, it has abated somewhat in recent days. We are seeing that individuals at least are not pulling out their money on the same massive scale as in the last two weeks. There is even an inflow of funds from individuals," Dmitriev said, adding that corporate clients, primarily state companies, are reducing their balances on accounts at Russian banks in Ukraine.

"But for now there is no concern about losses. VEB clients are servicing their loans. We have not seen any signs that Prominvestbank borrowers plan to stop servicing and meeting their commitments," Dmitriev said.
