Russian investigators seek arrest warrant for Ukrainian Right Sector's Dmytro Yarosh - court official

MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - Russian investigators have asked Moscow's Basmanny Court to issue an arrest warrant in absentia for the leader of Ukraine's Right Sector radical movement, Dmytro Yarosh, who has been accused by the Russian authorities of calling for terrorist activity.

"An appropriate request has been received from the investigators. The court will consider it on March 12," court spokesperson Natalya Romanova told Interfax on Friday.

Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin announced on March 5 that Yarosh, against whom Russia had opened a criminal case on charges of calls for terrorism, had been declared internationally wanted and indicted in absentia.

The Investigative Committee charged Yarosh with "publicly calling for terrorist and extremist activities with the use of media outlets," Markin said.
