Russia boosts electricity export 60% in Jan
MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - Russia boosted electricity export 60% year-on-year in January to 1.593 billion kWh and 50% in value to $87 million, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.
Export to non-CIS countries jumped 60% to 1.035 billion kWh and 56% to $55 million.
Export to the CIS went up 54% to 558 million kWh and 38% to $31.5 million.
Overall Russian electricity import fell 13% to 282 million kWh and 13% to $7.2 million. Import from non-CIS countries was 6.2 million kWh ($0.1 million) and import from CIS countries - 276 million kWh ($7 million).
OJSC Inter RAO exports and imports Russia's electricity. The biggest non-FSU markets are Finland, Lithuania, Belarus and China.
