Two rallies in support of Russian-speaking population of Ukraine held in Chita

CHITA. March 10 (Interfax) - The Transbaikal district branch of the Russian Communist Party has announced its support for the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine during the rally in Chita, the district interior ministry department press office told Interfax.

"Around a hundred supporters of the communists were at the rally and they supported the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine," the press office said.

No violations of the public order have occurred, the press office said.

This is the second rally to be held in Chita on Monday. According to the latest information of the district interior ministry department press office, around 7,000 people attended the rallies. The first rally was held at Chita's main square by non-governmental organizations.

Chita residents marched with Russian flags and slogans saying "We don't leave our people behind," "Russians and Ukrainians are brothers forever" and "Crimea, we are with you!"
