Former Kharkiv region's administration chief detained in Kyiv for political motives - Party of Regions
KYIV. March 11 (Interfax) - The Party of Regions regards the detention of Mykhailo Dobkin, former head of the Kharkiv region's administration, as political persecution.
"We are now concerned and we have certain grounds to see political persecution in that," parliamentarian Nestor Shufrich said in the Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday.
At the same time, he said he is hoping that the investigation into Dobkin's case will be transparent and the trial will be open to the press and the public.
Dobkin was detained on March 10. The court is expected to decide whether to take him in custody on March 11.
