Russia's OMZ to build 1.5 bln rubles worth of equipment for Belarus NPP
ST. PETERSBURG. March 13 (Interfax) - The Russian OMZ Group's Izhorskiye Zavody and LLC OMZ Special Steels will supply 1.5 billion rubles worth of equipment for the first and second generating units of the nuclear power plant being built in Belarus, the OMZ press office said.
The equipment will be supplied in the period 2014-2017 via the Atomenergomash Group's AEM Technologies and will include pressure compensators and main circulation piping plus steel billets, some of them for reactor housing.
Izhorskiye Zavody is currently producing equipment for the Rostov and Baltic NPPs and the Tianwan plant in China.
Belarusian NPP will consist of two reactors with 2,400 megawatt capacity. The first reactor is to be launched in 2018 and the second in 2020.
