Ukraine's Prosecutor General contests Crimean parliament decision that state-run television and radio company Krym should report to Crimean Information Ministry

KYIV. March 13 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has filed a lawsuit with the Kyiv District Administrative Court contesting the decision made by the Crimean parliament on March 11, 2014 that the state-run television and radio company Krym and the radio and television center should report to the Information and Mass Communications Ministry created in Crimea.

"According to the current legislation of Ukraine and the charter documents of these enterprises, they are managed by the appropriate Ukrainian state authorities. For this reason, this decision is illegal. The Prosecutor General's Office has filed an appropriate lawsuit seeking a reversal of this decision," the Prosecutor General's Office press service said in a report posted on its website on Wednesday.

The prosecutors have also filed a motion seeking the suspension of this decision and a ban on its fulfillment, the press service reported.
