Putin, UN Secretary General discuss Crimean referendum, agree on future contacts - Kremlin
MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon have talked on the telephone, the Kremlin press office said in a statement on Friday.
"The situation in Ukraine has been discussed, including taking into account the referendum to determine the status of Crimea to be held on March 16, 2014. Putin has emphasized in particular that the decision to carry it out complies completely with the international legal standards and the UN Charter," the document said.
Putin and Ban Ki-moon have agreed to future contacts.
