Some Crimean Tatars vote in referendum - observer
MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Crimean Tatars are voting in the referendum on the status of Crimea and it follows from private conversations with them that they have no intention to boycott the voting, Igor Borisov, the head of the Russian Public Electoral Law Institute, said.
"We are not talking about any generalizations on my part because I have seen it with my own eyes. I have seen whole families of Crimean Tatars going to vote at Polling Station 1803 in the village of Semisotka, Leninsky district, not far from Kerch," Borisov, who was in charge of international observation issues in the Russian Central Elections Commission, said in a phone interview with Interfax.
"The Crimean Tatars who have voted said Crimean Tatars are not boycotting the referendum, as some politicians hoped," the source said.
