Lavrov, CSTO ambassadors, envoys discuss Ukraine
MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the ambassadors and envoys of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's member-countries discussed the situation in Ukraine and in the Crimea on Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
"On March 17, in line with Russia's rotating presidency of the CSTO, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with the ambassadors and envoys of the CSTO's member-states. The meeting was also attended by CSTO General Secretary Nikolai Bordyuzha," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"The discussion centered on ways to strengthen foreign-policy coordination between the member-states in the context of preparations for a meeting of the CSTO's Council of Foreign Ministers in Moscow on April 3. Lavrov informed his partners about the implementation of the priorities of Russia's rotating presidency, confirmed by the chairman of the CSTO's Collective Security Council, and of resolutions of the Sochi session of the Collective Security Council, held in 2013," the Foreign Ministry said.
"There was an exchange of views on international issues, including the situation in Afghanistan and the current developments in Ukraine and in the Crimea," it said.
