Uralvagonzavod discussing possible construction of Azerbaijan railcar factory
YEKATERINBURG. March 18 (Interfax) - Russian machine building company OJSC NPK Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) and the Azerbaijani authorities are discussing the possibility of building a railcar factory in Azerbaijan, the president of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Andrei Besedin, said at a press conference at Interfax's press center in Yekaterinburg on Tuesday.
Talks concerning this issue took place last week during the visit of Sverdlovsk Region's delegation to Azerbaijan. The delegation included representatives from over 30 of the region's enterprises.
"This is the factory's project to build rolling stock for civil transport engineering. UVZ is carrying out an analogous project in Jelgava, Latvia, that will be launched in November. [
