Western sanctions won't disrupt state defense orders, exports - NPO High Precision Weapons

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian R&D centers and enterprises can cope with a possible Western ban on the delivery of microelectronic parts to Russia, NPO High Precision Weapons Holding General Director Alexander Denisov told reporters on Wednesday.

"Certainly, there will be some difficulties. But we will try to minimize our losses. Besides, sanctions have a two-way effect. The Soviet Union developed its production potential under a tight blockade. We will take certain measures again," Denisov answered the question if possible economic sanctions over the Crimean accession to Russia might affect Russian arms programs.

"Do not forget there is the East besides the West. They also make lots of things. There will be problems but I think they can be resolved," Denisov noted.
