MinFin: Russia to consider Crimea budget issues following constitutional ruling on accession

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - Russia will consider Crimea's budget issues once a constitutional ruling on its accession has been made, Deputy Finance Minister Tatyana Nesterenko said in comments on the decision of the new republic's parliament to increase the budget.

"Right now we are talking about a sovereign state. How are they able to work out these issues [increasing Crimea's budget] with us, with Russia? When there is a constitutional ruling and it becomes a Russian region, then issues concerning the region's budget and the federal budget, on the support for the federal subdivisions there, will be a subject for separate examination. Right now we are not interfering in the sovereign entity's work," she said.
