Sobinbank warns clients of possible bank card service interruptions
MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Sobinbank, owned by St. Petersburg's Bank Rossiya, which has recently been subjected to sanctions, is warning its clients of possible interruptions for bank card services, the bank said in a statement on Friday.
"Service interruptions are possible for bank cards in the sales network and at the ATMs of third-party banks. Use ATMs of OJSC Sobinbank and the ORS [United Settlement System] to withdraw cash," the bank said.
Sobinbank's clients who are currently abroad have been recommended to contact the bank by telephone.
A source close to the bank said that the problems are associated with international payment systems shutting down their services to the bank's clients. People can withdraw money from the bank's ATMs without problems. Bank employees were informed in writing that the bank is experiencing no liquidity difficulties, and if cash is needed it can be gotten from the ATMs.
As reported earlier, Visa and MasterCard have stopped providing payment operation services for the clients of the bank AB Rossiya, which has been affected by sanctions United States sanctions on major shareholders , the lending organization said in a statement on Friday.
