Moscow vows tough response to U.S. sanction list expansion
MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Russia's response to the sanctions imposed by the United States will be tough, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.
"The U.S. administration decision announced on March 20 to expand the list of sanctions against Russian officials, parliamentarians and businessmen as a punishment for Crimea's reunification with Russia causes disappointment and regret," he said in a commentary posted on the ministry's website on Friday.
"We are certain to respond toughly as already happened on more than one occasion earlier with respect to earlier sanctions," the diplomat said.
