Kozak hopes tourism will partly switch from Turkey, Egypt to Crimea
MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - The Russian government has until April 5 to approve a roadmap for promoting tourism in Crimea, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said.
"A concrete plan, a roadmap for supporting the resort industry of the Republic of Crimea during the transition period must be approved before April 5," Kozak told reporters after a meeting chaired by the prime minister, which focused on the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol.
We are already considering proposals to orient major employers towards buying holiday packages for their employees not to Turkey and Egypt, but to Crimea, Kozak said.
"There is such an appeal, a request to Russian businesses, primarily in the northern regions, those who distribute holiday packages, to re-orient towards the resort industry of the Republic of Crimea. This is one of the key economic sectors of the peninsula," Kozak said.
