Over 40 warships and support vessels to join Russian Navy in 2014
MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Navy is expected to receive advanced surveillance and small-sized missile ships, as well as different support vessels this year, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a press release, seen by Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.
"In 2014, Project 11356 surveillance ships, Project 21631 small-sized missile ships, Project 21980 counter-sabotage motorboats, and the advanced rescue vessel Igor Belousov are expected to be transferred [to the Russian Navy]. In addition to that, there are plans to launch the construction of a series of support vessels such as a Project 21180 icebreaker, a Project 02690 self-propelled floating crane and other vessels," it said.
More than 40 warships, submarines and different support vessels are expected to join Russia's Navy in 2014, it said.
