Ukraine will pay max. $387 per 1,000 cubic meter of Russian gas in Q2 - ministry

KYIV. March 25 (Interfax) - Ukraine will not pay more than $387 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas to Gazprom in the second quarter of 2014, Ukraine's Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan said.

"We are not going to sue them (Russia), we are going to pay them at a price of $387 per 1,000 cubic meters. If they set a price for us, we will still pay $387. They can take this to a court," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Russia has not made any official steps to denounce the Kharkiv Accords, Prodan added.

"There have been no steps, only statements, to change the accords at an official level," he said.
