Ukrainians with Russian citizenship will not be issued biometric passports - PM
KYIV. March 26 (Interfax) - Ukrainian citizens holding Russian citizenship will not be issued biometric passports, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"Biometric passports will be issued to those, who do not have a second passport with Russian citizenship," Yatsenyuk said.
Ukrainian citizens with biometric passports will be able to travel to the European Union without visas, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule said at a briefing in Kyiv following an expanded meeting of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
The EU will additionally study the question of issuing visas to Crimean residents, who might have two passports - Ukrainian and Russian, Fule said.
Such a situational analysis will be held in close cooperation with the Ukrainian authorities and all interested parties as much as possible, Fule said.
