Medvedev calls for timely measures on Crimea's socioeconomic development
SIMFEROPOL. March 31 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has warned his government against protracting the implementation of orders regarding the Crimean socioeconomic development.
"Any delay in the execution of the instructions regarding the socioeconomic development of Crimea and Sevastopol can worsen the situation on the peninsula, which should not be allowed to happen," Medvedev said at a government session in Simferopol on Monday.
"I consider it absolutely important and necessary for the government to make a firsthand assessment of the state of affairs and the scale of the tasks we face," the head of government said.
Such a work format makes it possible to resolve many issues without bureaucratic hurdles, he said.
The government session is attended not only by the members of the Russian Cabinet, but also Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksyonov, Crimean Parliament Speaker Vladimir Konstantinov, and Sevastopol Mayor Alexei Chaly, as well as other senior officials from Crimea and Sevastopol.
